picturing food

I tried to visualize some of the things I have described about cooking.

I hope this animation may help you to look at a dish as you would at a buiding, or the way you might listen to a piece of music. Cooking means balancing your ingredients, finding the right supports and ornaments for your general idea.

I used Google Sketchup for the animation, and yes: my cooking is better than my drawing.

would a food-recorder be a nice invention?

before the introduction of sound-recording the memories and talk about a concert could travel over many years, through several countries.

I sometimes think that the beauty of a great meal is its being tied to a moment. Repeating it only makes the memory more shallow. I'm not arguing against progress, but for as many first times as we can manage.
